Proposal P8 · Express Zone Advisor.
The express zone already exists in eHub and picking already prefers it — this weekly, read-only
report supplies the missing piece: the decision of what belongs there. Plain database logic does the
counting; AI explains the findings. It never moves stock.
The one number the zone is measured by
68%▲ +4 pts vs last week
of this week's picks were served from the express zone. Every point won is picks moved from deep storage to the fast lane — the picking logic already prefers the zone, so improvement converts directly into faster picks.
express-zone hit rate by week · computed from pick records eHub already keeps
Four findings worth a look — click any row
read-only · humans move stock
Worth adding
SKU A-1042 · Vitamin C 1000mg effervescent — 214 picks this week, every one from deep storage
The zone's top missing fast-mover, for the third week running.
▼
Wk 29214 picks · Wk 36
Why it made the list: demand has climbed eight weeks straight while every pick
travelled to deep storage (rack D-22). No picking rule keeps it out of the zone — it simply was never
assigned. Bin moves needed: 1.
Worth adding
SKU B-2210 · Paracetamol 500mg 24s — new promotion line, 168 picks and climbing
Not in the zone. Bin moves needed: 1, same aisle.
▼
Wk 29168 picks · Wk 36
Why it made the list: the pick curve is a promotion taking off — spotted
before its peak, not after it. Suggested ahead of demand so the zone is ready when the campaign
crests. An empty pick-face slot exists in the same aisle.
Worth reviewing
SKU C-0871 · Herbal supplement gift pack — holds a prime slot, 3 picks in four weeks
The slot could work harder.
▼
Wk 29 · seasonal peak3 picks · Wk 36
Why it made the list: a seasonal line whose season ended — demand fell 97%
from its Week-29 peak but the slot assignment never followed. Releasing PF-A-02 frees a prime slot for
either candidate above.
Working well
Top 20 residents — carried 61% of zone picks this week; no change suggested
Also: 6 products rightly picked from elsewhere were excluded, not blamed.
▼
Excluded by design: 6 expiry-controlled SKUs are picked
by first-expiry-first-out from their lot locations — their picking rules rightly draw them from outside
the zone, so the report separates them instead of flagging them as misplaced. A report that blames the
wrong products loses the room; keeping them out of the blame column is where AI judgement earns its place.
Not everything here needs AI — and we say so
how it's builtPlain logic does the counting
Pick frequencies, hit rates and rankings are straightforward arithmetic on the pick records eHub already keeps. We don't dress that up as AI — it's dependable precisely because it's simple. Moves are counted in bin moves, not metres — the system holds no distance data, and we don't invent precision it can't support.✦ AI does the judgement work
Writing the plain-language weekly story, explaining why each item made the list, and keeping products that are rightly picked from elsewhere out of the blame column. Supervisors act through the replenishment and transfer flows they already have — the AI never moves stock.
